Le Jardin Haitian Restaurant — Website Design

A beloved Little Haiti restaurant with 287 Google reviews and no website to show its menu or take orders. We designed and built one that makes the food the hero and puts ordering one tap away.

The brief

What they needed.

Le Jardin has spent years earning something you cannot fake in Little Haiti: a 4.5-star rating from 287 real Google reviews, cooking Haitian comfort food the way it is made at home. What it did not have was a website. Anyone searching for "Haitian food in Little Haiti" found no menu, no photos, and no easy way to order — the only path was to already know the number. A kitchen with a real reputation and a loyal following had nowhere online to send a hungry customer. The brief we set ourselves: turn that reputation into a site that shows the food, lists the menu, and makes ordering a single tap.

The approach

How we designed & built it.

  1. 1 Led with the restaurant's real credibility — Little Haiti location, 4.5 stars from 287 Google reviews, open late — right at the top.
  2. 2 Chose a bold, appetite-first art direction: oversized condensed display type, a deep-navy, cream and gold palette, and warm candle-lit food photography that makes the dishes the hero.
  3. 3 Built the signature dishes — tassot, BBQ chicken, soup joumou and legume — into the design so the food itself does the selling.
  4. 4 Structured the site as three focused pages — Home, Menu and Contact — each with exactly one job to do.
  5. 5 Gave the menu its own page with real, scannable prices ($10-20 plates) instead of a PDF or a "call to ask".
  6. 6 Made "Call to Order" a one-tap action in the header and on every page, with the phone number always visible — because this kitchen takes its orders by phone.
  7. 7 Built it mobile-first and verified the layout holds with no horizontal scroll at phone width — where nearly every hungry search actually happens.
  8. 8 Deployed it to a live URL so the owners could open it on their own phone and see the finished thing working before making any decision.
